Native Californian, Kate Michaels, moved to Switzerland in 1996 to join the Basel cast of Lloyd Webber‘s Phantom of the Opera. After performing in additional musical and opera productions, jazz, big band concerts, film work, recording, directing productions and managing contracts for other artists, Ms. Michaels founded New Arts Paradigm to help coordinate different projects and event requests.

With a strong background in performing, public speaking and production work, Ms. Michaels’ experience and expertise also extends to production director, stage director, music director, assistant director, stage management, project manager for studio and voice-over work, editor and writer for artist promotion materials, departmental training manuals, entertainment management for events, event planning and coordination of promotion materials.

Ms. Michaels’ artist clientele have performed in Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Tanz der Vampire, Les Miserables, We Will Rock You, Deep, Heidi and Hair. Our corporate clients include: WEF, American Club of Geneva, PartnerRe, Schroders Investment Bank, Cospa Bank, UBS, Kult Kino, Swiss Tourism and Actelion.

Ms. Michaels is a member of the Professional Women’s Group in Basel, the Schweizerischer Bühnen Kunstlerverband (SBKV), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and is an associate member of the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists Screen Actors Guild (AFTRA/SAG). She has published various articles on singing, production and entrepreneurship for several publications including Classical Singer Magazine.
